Microneedling Benefits
How is Microneedling Beneficial?
Are you looking for a safe and effective way to reduce your fine lines and wrinkles? Do you wish to change the way you look, but without any downtime?
Don’t worry – now you have an effective solution in hand!
Microneedling refers to a painless procedure that is quick and convenient and the way to get firmer, smoother and younger-looking skin. It is known as collagen induction therapy. Through this process, it is possible to induce the production of collagen, which also helps in strengthening the epidermis. It is a minimally invasive technique that is safe for almost all people who are in good health.
This is a dermaroller procedure that utilizes small needles that prick the skin. The main purpose of this treatment is the generation of new collagen. It also helps in generating skin tissues for a firmer, smoother and toned skin. Microneedling is generally used on the face and is quite effective in treating problems related to large pores which look a bit awkward, wrinkles and scars. It is also used in many anti-aging procedures which include sunspots and eyelid surgery.
It needs to be noted that microneedling is not an effective treatment in case of hair loss, despite the role of collagen in hair growth.
The process is done by expert technicians who use fine needles. When these needles are passed just over the skin, they create micro-injuries. This triggers new collagen synthesis. Each such micro ‘injury’ creates a channel that compels the body to produce new collagen. Such a procedure doesn’t have side effects. Results are noticed in a short time and they do make a difference.
Any individual who is in good health and has certain health issues, which have not responded to different home treatments or other kinds of dermatological procedures are recommended microneedling. Microneedling is said to be the final step before considering cosmetic surgery as an option for antiaging treatment.
Benefits of Microneedling Procedure
Helps in Reducing the Appearance of Fine Lines and Wrinkles
As we age, our body starts losing its natural collagen and elastin and this is a natural process, which cannot be avoided. Such a loss is responsible for facial wrinkles and sagging skin. Though the aging process cannot be reversed, we can do a few things which can help in reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
Microneedling is the process that stimulates natural elastin production. There is an increase in the production of collagen which helps to reduce fine lines and wrinkles. Individuals can have younger looking and fresh skin without any downtime. Besides, the procedure is not going to cause a hole in your pocket.
Helps in Improving Scars
Microneedling is effective in reducing acne scars and surgery marks. In this process, old tissues are broken down, which triggers the production of new elastin and also collagen for healthy skin.
Reduction in Appearance of Stretch Marks
Stretch marks are difficult to get rid of though there are several cosmetic treatments which claim to reduce their appearance. Most often these are found to be quite expensive or they take a lot of time to show results. Microneedling is quite helpful and found to improve the appearance of stretch marks. Marks get lighter and slowly seem to fade away. This is especially effective when it is combined with different treatments that include Fraxel and other kinds of laser treatments.
Helps in Reducing Signs of Aging
Microneedling is powerful and effective in reducing the appearance of early aging signs. It helps in reducing the appearance of new wrinkles and fine lines. When this is combined with corrective antioxidant serums, it helps in adding a natural brightness to the skin. This provides a delightful youthful glow. Such kind of a glow is not possible from other cosmetic procedures.
Microneedling Might Help in Shrinking Pores
Many people fear that microneedling can enlarge pores, but in reality, the treatment helps in making the pores a lot smaller. This is a process that stimulates collagen production in and also around the pores. It causes shrinking. Those who suffer from the problem of large pores can benefit from this treatment.
Can Help in Reversing Damaged Skin and Pigmentation
Stimulating the growth of collagen is, undoubtedly, the best way to improve how your skin looks and this is a lot beyond its ability to reduce wrinkles. When stimulating collagen growth through the process of microneedling, it might help in reducing discoloration and sun damage caused to the skin. This includes hyperpigmentation which comes with melasma.
Microneedling is an effective treatment for brownish facial pigmentation and blotchy skin. It helps in reducing the extra pigmentation which causes damage to the skin. With extra pigmentation, the skin looks dull, tired and at times unhealthy. Microneedling can help in giving a fresh and relaxed look to the skin.
Can Help Skin Products to Work Better
It is a harsh reality that just a little percentage of the expensive serums and other beauty products we use, can penetrate the skin. The rest of it is lost on the surface of the skin.
One of the many benefits of microneedling is that it is quite effective at product absorption. As per The European Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, this kind of treatment helps topical medications penetrate deep into the skin. The tiny punctures in the skin are more like channels that help different topical products get deep into the skin where they are needed.
Last, but not the least, if you thought that the benefits of microneedling are just for your face, you need to know that it is not exclusive to your face. Microneedling can be done in any part of your body which includes your back, chest, legs, and butt.
Microneedling is the advanced way of achieving skin rejuvenation, an effective way to tighten the skin and to reduce the appearance of scars. Get in touch with expert professionals who will help you succeed.
Microneedling Before and After
Microneedling is a minimally invasive therapeutic technique that is safe, effective and quite simple. When it was first introduced, it was recommended mainly for skin rejuvenation. However, in the later years and in the present times, it is used for several indications which include stretch marks, acne, scars, alopecia, hyperhidrosis, and other conditions.
It is a safe technique that can be used with many other surgical techniques to offer improved results. It is the ideal process for dark skin types where the risk associated with post-inflammatory pigmentation is high.
How is The Process
This is an office-based procedure that lasts between 10-20minutes. The time taken for the process is dependent on the area which is treated. Before the procedure, it is a usual practice to counsel the patient. The patient is made aware of expected outcomes, the need for multiple sittings and the possibility of delayed response as well. The patient is explained the necessity to prepare the skin for at least one month before the procedure. The skin needs a regular dose of Vitamin A and C formulations, at least two times in a day, which helps in maximizing dermal collagen formation.
The entire procedure is done under topical anesthesia. Once the area is prepared with saline and antiseptic, the skin is usually stretched with a hand. It is stretched perpendicularly. Rolling takes place five times each in oblique, vertical and horizontal directions using the other hand. The endpoint of the treatment is identified as the uniform pin-point bleeding, and this is easily controlled.
After the procedure is complete, saline is used to wet the area. Ice packs are also used if needed. Doctors advise the patient to regularly use sunscreen and follow some sun-protective measures. There is no downtime and the patient can get back to the daily routine, the next day. However, treatment is performed in intervals of 3-8 weeks. Multiple sittings are required to get the desired effect. The result might not be visible immediately as the new collagen is laid down for at least 3-6 months after the treatment is over.
Though microneedling is an effective and safe procedure, as in the case of all treatments, it is extremely crucial to take good care of your skin before and after the process. This ensures the best results and quick recovery.
